Sugarman Rogers congratulates Lisa Goodheart on being named the recipient of the New England Women in Real Estate (NEWiRE) 2014 Leadership Award. This prestigious award recognizes Lisa’s contributions to NEWiRE and the commercial real estate community at large over the years. Through her collegial support of other professionals, and by her representation of many players in the real estate world who are faced with litigation and other disputes in the areas of real estate and environmental law, Lisa has made a positive difference for others. She will receive the Leadership Award during NEWiRE’s Achievement Awards Dinner on April 9 in Boston.

Sugarman Rogers’ managing partner, Regina Roman, noted “Lisa is a longstanding supporter of women’s leadership initiatives, within the firm and the legal and real estate communities. Her commitment to professional mentorship and civic engagement is truly impressive, and we are honored to celebrate Lisa’s success.”

Lisa has held leadership positions with a number of notable organizations. Currently, she is President-Elect of the Boston Bar Foundation and serves as a member of the BBF’s Board of Trustees, Grants Committee and Society of Fellows Committee. Previously, she served as President of the Boston Bar Association, and as a member of the BBA’s Executive Committee and Council, and as Co-Chair of the BBA’s Environmental Law Section. By appointment of Governor Deval Patrick, she chaired the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission from 2007 to 2010, and by appointment of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, she is now a member of both the Court Management Advisory Board and the Committee to Study the Code of Judicial Conduct. Lisa was also the 2007-2008 President of NEWiRE, following terms on NEWiRE’s Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Programs and Seminars Committee, and she has served on NEWiRE’s Nominating Committee and in its mentoring program.

In her law practice, Lisa focuses on environmental, real estate and business disputes, handling cases in these areas for a broad range of clients before various state and federal agencies, trial courts and appellate courts. To learn more, visit Lisa’s bio and connect with her on LinkedIn.
