Alessandra W. Wingerter concentrates her litigation practice on environmental, land use, real estate, and administrative law. Her experience on behalf of public and private clients encompasses the areas of zoning, permitting and land-use litigation, including litigation under the state hazardous-waste laws (chapter 21E and the Massachusetts Contingency Plan), wetlands laws, waterways laws (chapter 91), local environmental laws, and other environmental statutes and regulations. She assists the Environmental & Energy Law and Real Estate Litigation practice groups in closely working with experts, technical consultants, and other attorneys. Alle is also a member of the firm’s Government & Elections Law practice group. Alle has contributed to amicus briefs before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and Appeals Court in significant appellate matters. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, concentrating on environmental justice and conservation issues, including Wellesley Conservation Council v. Pereira, 98 Mass. App. Ct. 194 (2020) and, as an intern, Smith v. Westfield, 478 Mass. 49 (2017). Alle maintains an active pro bono practice, concentrating on environmental justice and conservation issues. She also is a member of the Boston Bar Association and New England Women in Energy and the Environment, and she was recently selected to the Environmental Law Institute’s Emerging Leaders Initiative. Prior to joining Sugarman Rogers, Alle served as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul A. Suttell, Chief Justice of the Rhode Island State Supreme Court, and the Honorable Gordon H. Piper, Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Land Court. While completing her dual degree program, Alle was an intern at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and at the Environmental Protection Agency. |
