The walk is one of the largest lobby days at the Massachusetts State House, where nearly 700 attorneys come together to advocate for funding to provide essential legal services for needy families, children, elders, and domestic abuse survivors. Every year, funding shortages force legal aid organizations to turn away eligible applicants seeking help. This year, the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation is requesting a $4 million increase for civil legal aid in FY19, and we hope that our firm’s presence can help make that happen. In addition, this year we were joined by one of the newest members of our team, Cynthia Stone Creem, who has served as a Massachusetts Senator for the First Middlesex and Norfolk District since 1999. Click here to learn more about the Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid, or visit the Equal Justice Coalition Twitter page to follow the event, here.
