Sugarman Rogers has named Christine Netski as the firm’s managing partner. Christine replaces Regina Roman, who has served as managing partner for over 17 years, and who will now be the firm’s general counsel. In her new role, Christine will chair the firm’s executive committee, and work with partners and executive staff on the firm’s strategic direction in key areas including client service, practice management, and business development. She will continue to serve as chair of the firm’s Employment Law practice group and as co-chair of its Business Disputes practice group. Christine joined Sugarman Rogers as an associate over 30 years ago and served on the firm’s executive committee for 15 years. She has also held various leadership positions in the Boston Bar Association, most recently serving as treasurer and chair of the BBA Finance Committee. Netski has also served as co-chair of the Women’s Bar Association’s Leadership Initiative and as vice president of the board of directors of the Massachusetts Appleseed Center for Law and Justice. “It has been a privilege to help lead Sugarman Rogers for many years, and I am delighted that Chris is assuming this responsibility,” says Regina. “With her intelligence, experience and good judgment, she is the perfect choice. Most importantly, Chris enjoys the respect of all her colleagues – attorney and staff alike. Under her leadership, the firm will continue to meet the steep challenges of an evolving legal landscape while remaining true to its core values.” Regina, who concentrates her practice in insurance coverage and professional-liability defense, and is a member of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers, will serve as the firm’s general counsel. Regina was named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in 2013 and again in 2017 for her insurance work. She is chair of the firm’s Insurance & Reinsurance practice group, and will also continue to advise attorneys and law firms on ethical, professional-liability and business matters. “The firm is deeply grateful to Regina for her long tenure of exemplary leadership and commitment to our mission,” says Netski. “She brings her keen intellect and deep experience in the law of lawyering to her position as general counsel. I am honored to follow in her footsteps to help lead such an accomplished group of colleagues in serving the changing needs of our clients and contributing to the communities where we practice.” |
