Sugarman Rogers is pleased to announce that Partner Kate Cook has been appointed by Attorney General Maura Healey to serve as First Assistant Attorney General in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. She will assume the role in January 2022.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Kate,” says Sugarman Rogers’ Managing Partner Christine Netski. “Kate is an incredibly talented lawyer who will bring broad experience in both the public and private sectors to her new role. We are confident that she will serve the people of Massachusetts exceptionally well.”

Kate joined the firm in early 2015 after serving as chief legal counsel to Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and currently leads the firm’s government law and election law practice groups. Kate’s prior experience also includes serving as general counsel to the Massachusetts Senate Ways and Means Committee and as an assistant corporation counsel to the City of Boston.

Please join the firm in congratulating Kate and wishing her all the best in her new role!
