The Boston Bar Association has appointed Kate R. Cook to serve as co-chair of the BBA’s Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Section starting in September 2016 until August 2018.

Kate’s practice focuses on general business, employment, environmental and real estate law. In addition to litigation matters, she helps businesses, institutions and government entities navigate administrative law, permitting and regulatory matters. She has served as Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor, General Counsel to Massachusetts Senate Ways and Means Committee and Assistant Corporation Counsel to the City of Boston. Kate is a graduate of Harvard University Law School and Brown University.

The BBA has 24 sections, and co-chairs are appointed to two-year terms by the BBA president. Section co-chairs are responsible for helping their sections plan events and educational programs, and they play a vital role as leaders of our organization.
