Alisa is a skilled litigator and adviser in probate and family-law matters. She regularly appears and tries cases in the probate and family court, but she is also adept at collaborating with clients and opposing counsel to bring about fair and efficient out-of-court resolutions of what are often sensitive and private matters.

Alisa’s practice encompasses all aspects of probate and family law, including complex divorce cases, disputes over custody, visitation and parenting time, issues of child support, alimony, and division of the marital estate, paternity matters, requests for modification of divorce agreements and judgments, and contempt actions.  Her domestic-relations practice also includes counseling clients in the negotiation and drafting of prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements.

In the probate area, Alisa represents trustees, personal representatives, other fiduciaries, and beneficiaries in matters involving will contests, disputes over estate administration, and complaints for judicial instruction, declaratory judgment and equitable remedies. In contested conservatorship and guardianship actions, Alisa represents clients seeking to have a court appoint a guardian or conservator to oversee the medical well-being or finances of a vulnerable person who cannot manage his or her own care. She also represents clients who oppose such requests for appointment.

Alisa’s work includes close collaboration with experts in valuation of clients’ businesses, forensic analysis of financial information, and complex tax analysis related to the division and distribution of marital and probate estates and the negotiation of child support and alimony.

Alisa is a certified mediator and conciliator, and provides these services in probate and family-law matters.

Alisa’s approach to her cases and clients is both empathetic and straightforward. She has a reputation for integrity, reasonable positions, and a strong understanding of the law and the courts.

Alisa has long donated her time and skills to her community. She has served as a conciliator in the SERV conciliation program run by Suffolk County, helping parties who appear in court without counsel to resolve their cases. She serves as volunteer lawyer for children in domestic relations and paternity cases affecting the children’s welfare and future. And as a volunteer in the family court Lawyer of the Day program in Middlesex and Norfolk counties, Alisa assists unrepresented parties in understanding the procedural and legal aspects of their cases.
