Featured Flourish

Alan has counseled and represented clients for nearly four decades in the areas of domestic relations, probate law, and civil litigation. He has substantial experience and success negotiating and litigating complex family law matters, including disputes over divorce, child custody, property division, alimony, child support, visitation, contempt, modification, removal and paternity. He also frequently represents clients in the negotiation and drafting of prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements.

Alan works closely with his clients in what are often high-stakes, sensitive cases. He emphasizes providing a clear set of expectations and strategies, clearly explaining the boundaries and requirements imposed by the applicable laws and judicial practices, and helping clients arrive at workable solutions.  Alan is highly respected by peers, clients, and judges for the integrity of his word, the soundness of his advice, and for his practical and straightforward approach to cases and issues.

In addition to his trial work, Alan is a certified mediator and collaborative law practitioner. He also serves as personal counsel for many individual clients.

Alan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and is the immediate past-president of its Massachusetts chapter. He is also a frequent lecturer on family law issues at programs sponsored by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and various professional and bar associations.
