Sugarman ROgers partner William Boesch will appear on a panel at this spring’s American Bar Association National Legal Malpractice Conference, to be held April 30-May 2, 2014 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston. The topic for William’s panel is captured in the title “‘You Claim You Would Have Gotten A Better Result? Prove It!’: Causation Issues in ‘Lost Opportunity’ Malpractice Cases.” Along with co-panelists Richard Zielinski of Goulston & Storrs and Willard Shih of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, William will use a series of real-life vignettes to illustrate and discuss the difficult causation issues presented by malpractice cases in which the plaintiff-client’s claim is based on a supposed loss, resulting from the lawyer’s mishandling, of an opportunity for a better settlement or a better business deal. |
