On January 26, 2018, Sugarman Rogers was highlighted by the Boston Business Journal for the firm’s dedication to pro bono work in the article “Mass law firms make case for high praise with pro bono work.”

An excerpt:

Nearly half of the firms that responded to the BBJ’s survey for the list of the 100 largest law firms in Massachusetts reported performing some pro bono hours in 2017. Those respondents averaged 5,570 hours. And the work is not limited to large firms; for example, Sugarman, Rogers Barshak & Cohen, with just 25 attorneys, donated 2,770 hours of pro bono work last year.

“It says a lot about the leadership at the law firms in Massachusetts who may not make it mandatory for their attorneys to put in the pro bono hours each year, but strongly encourage it,” said Reena Glazer, assistant director of the Pro Bono Institute, which tracks the legal profession’s pro bono work each year at the largest firms.
