Sugarman Rogers partner Kate Cook has been appointed to the Massachusetts Commission on Judicial Conduct, the state agency charged with enforcing standards of judicial conduct for Massachusetts state judges, by Chief Justice of the Trial Court Paula Carey. The membership of the Commission consists of nine people, each appointed for an unpaid six-year term: three judges appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court, three lawyers appointed by the Chief Justice of the Trial Court, and three non-lawyers appointed by the Governor.

The Commission is the designated forum in Massachusetts for all complaints alleging misconduct by a judge or alleging mental or physical disability affecting a judge’s performance. “The Commission serves a critical role in preserving the integrity of the judicial process, and I am honored to serve,” said Cook. Kate Cook is the chair of Sugarman Rogers’ Government Law and Election Law practice groups.
